Co-Parenting Support & Legal Help - The Co-Parenting Clinic

At Children in the Middle, we understand that separation can be challenging — especially when it comes to making decisions about your child’s care. That’s why we’ve partnered with Kids Come First to offer a unique and collaborative service through The Co-Parenting Clinic. Our service is designed to provide separated parents with expert co-parenting support and legal advice.

Our approach puts your child at the heart of every decision. Instead of navigating stressful court proceedings, you can access practical legal advice and emotional support in a structured, child-focused environment. This helps reduce conflict and promotes healthier communication between co-parents.

What Co-Parenting Support Includes

Stage 1: Individual Legal and Emotional Support

Each separated parent begins with an online appointment to receive independent legal advice from their own specialist family law barrister at Children in the Middle. During this session, the barrister provides you with practical legal advice on child arrangements, focused on putting your child’s needs first.

Following this, each parent attends a solo workshop with Kids Come First. During your workshop you will receive emotional guidance and child-focused co-parenting support. This will help you to better understand your child’s needs and improve communication with the other parent.

Stage 2: Collaborative Planning and Resolution

If both parents choose to continue, they move into the second stage. Here, your barristers assist in negotiating and finalising child arrangements in a constructive and non-adversarial setting. This is followed by a joint co-parenting workshop designed to strengthen collaboration and build a healthier co-parenting relationship.
