The end of lockdown?

Spring is in the air. The daffodils are peeping through.  We now have the government’s plan for the end of this national lockdown.

So what does this mean for separated parents ?

For most parents, the key date is all children returning to school on 8 March. Many separated parents have, by agreement, changed the care arrangements during the home schooling period.

From 8 March many parents will return to the previous arrangements for caring for their children.

For others, perhaps those who will now be working from home indefinitely, they may now want a different caring arrangement altogether.

Some separated parents are now looking to the summer holidays and how the children will be cared for. EasyJet reported a 337% increase in bookings on the day of the government’s announcement. People are planning and perhaps hoping for some summer sun.

Our advice is always, as a first step to try to agree these arrangements with the other parent, either directly or perhaps via mediation.
